Andrea Di Carlo

Mr Di Carlo has served as Deputy Executive Director of the EUIPO since 2019, with his mandate renewed in 2024. He oversees the EUIPO’s work at the intersection of intellectual property, innovation and business competitiveness, including its initiatives on IP-backed finance. His responsibilities encompass the Office’s efforts to strengthen the economic use of intellectual property and improve the recognition of IP and other intangible assets in access-to-finance discussions, particularly for SMEs and start-ups. He also oversees the EUIPO’s Observatory, Academy and Business Development activities.
