Elias Pajares (Germany) is the founder of Plan4Better, a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich developing open-source tools for evidence-based urban and mobility planning. He first connected with the EIT Community through the EIT Urban Mobility Doctoral Training Network, which helped him develop an entrepreneurial mindset and bring his research into practice. This led to the transformation of his Geo Open Accessibility Tool from a research prototype into a professional planning platform now used by cities, transit authorities and planning offices in Germany and beyond.
The EIT Urban Mobility Doctoral Training Network gave me what no PhD course could: a European peer network of researcher-entrepreneurs, the entrepreneurial mindset to turn a thesis into a business and the belief that mobility access is a social problem. The community continues to be a multiplier as we scale Plan4Better across Europe.
