Matteo Mazzola (Italy) is a farmer, agroecologist and co-founder of Iside Farm, a farm-lab focused on agroecology, regenerative farming, soil restoration, biodiversity and community-based agriculture. His connection with EIT Food began through its Regenerative Agriculture programme, later developed as Regenerative Agriculture Works (RAW). Between 2021 and 2025, he took part in the RAW/ScaleUp learning pathway while also helping organise and implement field activities. EIT Food helped bring greater continuity, structure and scale to his existing work, opening connections with start-ups, farmers, educators, institutions and wider European innovation networks. He continues to work with EIT Food on regenerative agriculture and Test Farms-related activities, including agronomic support, farmer engagement, start-up–farm matching and pilot supervision.

EIT Food gave more continuity, structure and scale to work I had already been carrying out for many years. It helped transform scattered initiatives into a more systemic ecosystem of training, consultancy, dissemination and farmer to-farmer learning, while opening connections with startups, farmers, educators, institutions and wider European innovation networks.
