Diego graduated as an electrical engineer, major in electronics and automation, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
In 1988, at the start of his professional career, Diego co-founded Knowledge Engineering, a start-up dealing with industrial controls systems using artificial intelligence and neural networks. Three years later, he joined Sema Group. In SchlumbergerSema, Diego led multicultural teams all over the world in the field of energy, managing revenues of 650M$. Between 2002 and 2010, Diego was the CEO of Atos Origin, a leading international consulting firm, where he was responsible for Spain and South America, with about 9000 employees and a turnover of 450M€.
Since 2010, Diego has been CEO of EIT InnoEnergy, today the biggest accelerator in sustainable energy in the western world [300+ ventures in the portfolio, mostly CAPEX heavy, of which 3 Unicorns and several centaurus]
Diego, as a serial entrepreneur, has created 7 companies in his lifetime.
