AI meets IP: Protecting, growing and scaling European innovation

This EIT webinar, held as part of European AI Innovation Month, will explore how intellectual property (IP) can help protect, grow and scale AI innovation in Europe.

The event will feature contributions from the European Patent Office (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the European IP Helpdesk.

The webinar will offer practical guidance on:

• Patenting AI inventions and deciding when to publish or protect research results
• Using trade marks, designs, trade secrets and copyright to protect AI products
• Managing IP ownership, licensing and spin-out decisions from the lab to the market
• Using IP to support valuation, fundraising and growth
• Accessing European IP advice and support instruments

The programme will also include a practitioner spotlight from the EIT Community and an interactive panel discussion with time for questions. The webinar is open to entrepreneurs, researchers, technology transfer teams, IP professionals, investors, corporate innovation teams and policymakers. No prior IP expertise is required.
