To address the challenges coming from the rapid transformation of the mining and mineral processing sector, EIT RawMaterials is launching the SIGN (Strategic Impact Group Network).

What This SIGN Focuses On?

The SIGN will focus on technologies, operational models, and system-level solutions to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen Europe’s strategic resilience across extraction, beneficiation, and mineral processing. Early workstreams will identify technology gaps, deployment barriers, and opportunities where coordinated industry action can accelerate industrial adoption.

Who This Event Is For?

This launch meeting is designed for senior professionals directly responsible for shaping, deploying, or regulating mining and processing technologies, including:

  • Mining companies and plant operators (operations, process engineering, R&D)
  • Equipment manufacturers, automation providers, and system integrators
  • EPCM firms and engineering consultancies
  • Research organisations active in mining, beneficiation, and materials processing
  • Policy makers and agencies defining the regulatory and investment frameworks

The event provides a structured, high-level forum to:

  • Clarify the most urgent technological and operational challenges in European mining and processing
  • Understand priority areas for innovation, industrial investment, and system integration
  • Gain early insight into policy developments relevant to the sector, including the 2026 Circular Economy Act
  • Connect with a curated network of industry peers, OEMs, researchers, and decision-makers
  • Help define the first SIGN workstreams for 2026 and shape coordinated expert input for the European Commission
