Program

Why do so many of the world’s leading researchers choose Europe?

September 23, 2026 | 9:00–10:30 PDT

We’ll introduce the funding programs at the heart of European research, including Horizon Europe, the European Research Council (ERC), and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) — what they fund, who they’re for, and how to position yourself. You’ll hear success stories from international researchers who built thriving careers in Europe, and get a tour of the major research infrastructures and collaboration opportunities open to talent from anywhere in the world.

You’ll leave knowing: which European funding programs fit your profile, what world-class infrastructure you could access and what a research career in Europe can look like.

A research career in Europe isn’t a single track; it’s a landscape of options. This session helps you navigate it.

October 14, 2026 | 9:00–10:30 PDT

We’ll explore the pathways available to you, from postdoctoral positions and international research collaborations to industry partnerships, startups, and spin-offs. Speakers will share how to work with industry, tap into Europe’s innovation ecosystems, and turn research into real-world impact — whether your ambitions are academic, entrepreneurial, or somewhere in between.

You’ll leave knowing: the academic and non-academic routes open to you, how to connect with industry and innovation networks, and how to translate your research into impact and opportunity.

Deciding to move is one thing. Actually relocating is another. This practical session covers the details that make or break a move.

November 4, 2026 | 9:00–10:30 PDT

We’ll walk through visas and residence permits, housing, healthcare, education, and family support services, and point you to resources like EURAXESS Jobs and Hosting Offers. We’ll also talk about the human side — cultural differences, workplace expectations, and the work-life balance that makes Europe such an attractive place to build a life, not just a career.

You’ll leave knowing: the practical steps to relocate, the support services available to you and your family, and what to expect from life and work in Europe.
