EIT Community Hub Greece Officially Launched – A New Gateway to Europe’s Innovation Network

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has officially launched the EIT Community Hub Greece, marking a new milestone in connecting Greece’s growing innovation ecosystem with Europe’s leading network for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth.

Established in May 2025, the Hub serves as the entry point for Greek innovators to access the EIT’s extensive opportunities, networks, and support.

Strengthening Greece’s Innovation Ecosystem

The kick-off event, held today at the National Bank of Greece Headquarters in Athens, brought together around 100 representatives from government, academia, industry, and the startup community. The event was supported by NBG Business Seeds, the National Bank of Greece’s programme for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

Opening remarks were delivered by Ms Vicky D. Kefalas, Member of the Board of Directors of the European Innovation Council and EIT Governing Board Member, alongside senior representatives of the Greek Government, including Dr Anastasios Gaitanis, General Secretary for Research and Innovation (Ministry of Development & Investments), and Ms Argyro Zerva, Secretary General of European Funds and Infrastructure (Ministry of Rural Development and Food).

By strengthening local connections and opening doors for innovators across Greece, this new hub makes European support more tangible. It’s a step towards a more inclusive and dynamic innovation ecosystem – one that empowers Greek talent to thrive and shape Europe’s future.

Showcasing Greece’s Innovation Potential

Representatives from several EIT Communities showcased successful partnerships driving tangible results across the country. The day concluded with a networking session connecting participants with EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities to explore new cross-sector opportunities.

A Milestone for European Cooperation

The successful launch of the EIT Community Hub Greece highlights the EIT’s commitment to empowering local ecosystems and creating pathways for innovators to connect with Europe’s largest innovation network.
