Biotech Innovation Path Call
Shape the next generation of biotech innovators by developing a new EIT Label-certified learning pathway!
EIT Health invites organisations from industry, education and research to submit proposals for the development of a new EIT Label-certified Biotech pathway within the Certified Innovation Path (CIP) portfolio, complementing the existing Health Data, Digital Medical Devices and High Value Care pathways.
Funded projects will design and deliver personalised learning courses for graduates and professionals across the health biotechnology value chain. The pathway will equip participants with the innovation, entrepreneurship and biotech expertise needed to translate scientific advances into scalable, market-ready healthcare solutions across Europe.
The call information and supporting documents are now available to help applicants prepare their proposals. Access to the application platform will open on 15 July 2026.
Who can apply?
A consortium of a minimum of two Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) established in two different eligible Member States, of which:
- At least one HEI must be established in an EIT RIS region.
- At least one of the participating Higher Education Institutions must be authorised to award ECTS credits for the repurposed courses.
- At least one non-academic or industry partner is expected to actively contribute to the curriculum of the repurposed courses and to the supervision of learner assessment.
- Active and substantive involvement of non-academic or industry partners is essential, as a highly integrated, innovative learning by doing approach is a core principle of EIT Labelled Fellowships. Learners are expected to work both individually and in interdisciplinary teams, typically addressing authentic challenges articulated by industry and other non-academic partners.
About the course

- Equip participants to navigate and apply Europe’s evolving regulatory and policy landscape, including the EU Biotech Act, Clinical Trials Regulation and MDR/IVDR, with a focus on translation and early scale-up.
- Integrate advanced biotech and translational expertise with EIT Labelled innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership competencies, enabling real-world implementation of biotech innovation.
- Strengthen cross-border collaboration, mobility and industry engagement, connecting European research, clinical, manufacturing and investment ecosystems through applied learning and capstone projects.
- Enable participants to articulate and demonstrate projected scientific, clinical and economic value across development stages, and to align development strategies with financing, partnering and market access considerations.
What is funded
