Simone Albanese (Italy) is a nuclear engineer and co-founder and COO of RenU Fuel Solutions, which explores circular-economy approaches to nuclear waste. He completed the InnoEnergy EMINE double-degree programme and later developed RenU through InnoEnergy’s Green Seed Journey and EIT JumpStarter. In 2025, RenU won first prize in the EIT JumpStarter Energy & Renewables category and the Special Award for Best Team in the Mediterranean Region.

Through EMINE, the Road to the C-Suite programme, international activities and the wider InnoEnergy network, I learned to translate technical ideas into structured value propositions, work across cultures and communicate nuclear innovation to non-specialist audiences without losing technical integrity.
