VC Academy 2026

Applications are now open for VC Academy Cohort 7, a programme led by EIT Community Supernovas in partnership with BackFund, an experienced venture capital firm headquartered in Madrid.

Designed for women in early-stage venture and investment roles, VC Academy helps participants strengthen their investment skills, build confidence and progress towards greater decision-making responsibility in venture capital.

Built by practitioners with hands-on experience in venture capital, the programme combines practical tools, real-world investment expertise and a strong European network to help participants take the next step in their VC careers.

Why VC Academy?

Women remain underrepresented in Europe’s venture capital and innovation ecosystem. By strengthening the skills, confidence and networks of women working in venture and investment, VC Academy contributes to a more diverse and high-performing European investment ecosystem.

Since its launch in 2022, EIT Community Supernovas has trained more than 700 women across Europe, equipping them with practical investment knowledge, technical skills and opportunities to progress in venture capital.

VC Academy is designed for women in early-stage venture and investment roles who want to strengthen their investment capabilities and progress towards greater responsibility in VC.

The programme is particularly relevant for professionals working in:

• Venture Capital (VC)
• Corporate Venture Capital (CVC)
• Investment roles within startups or corporate innovation teams
• Other early-stage investment and venture roles

Whether you are developing your investment experience, evaluating your first deals or looking to take on greater decision-making responsibility, VC Academy provides practical tools and knowledge that you can apply directly to your work.

Participants will also receive an official certificate from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
