Welcome to the latest edition of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) newsletter. The EIT Governing Board has released its updated vision outlining concrete steps to boost Europe’s competitiveness through innovation in the next EU long-term budget (Multiannual Financial Framework) running from 2028 to 2034. The date has also been set for the EIT Education and Skills Days – taking place on 15–16 October in Brussels, the event will bring together key actors to explore innovation in education, inclusion, and future-ready skills across Europe.
The EIT has launched two new guides to showcase innovation and business creation impact. They provide a clear overview of how the EIT Community is tackling societal challenges and supporting Europe’s priorities on green, digital and competitive transformation. The EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative has also reached a major milestone, successfully training one million people in deep tech fields – a key step in strengthening Europe’s tech talent pipeline. Meanwhile, at its June meeting in Brussels, the EIT Governing Board discussed strategic priorities and welcomed Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation.
