Welcome to the latest edition of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) newsletter. The nominees for the 2025 EIT Awards have been announced, showcasing an impressive variety of changemakers, innovators, and successful entrepreneurs. Their achievements highlight the breadth and diversity of the EIT’s vast network across Europe and beyond.
The EIT Governing Board has approved its largest-ever funding round – an allocation of €978 million to boost innovation, entrepreneurship, and skills development across Europe for the period 2026–2028. EIT-supported projects also featured prominently at the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2025, with four EIT Community–backed initiatives among this year’s finalists.
Finally, the EIT Education and Skills Days took place over two days in October, bringing together key actors from across Europe to explore innovation in education, inclusion, and future-ready skills. At the event, the EIT unveiled new education and skills initiatives to strengthen Europe’s talent base. The European Advanced Materials Academy – a flagship EU initiative designed to equip people with the skills to drive innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness across Europe’s advanced materials sector – was also announced.
